Oh boy...the saga continues...

So, last we spoke I was very enthusiastic about the process of recording this project. I still am. However, it's been very rough folks.

To start, everything was going great. I was recording a new joint everyday and learning as I went along. I got up on my Twitter ish and forgot blogger lol. But, everything started going down hill from there. The studio put a stop on free time, because a mic went missing. They decided to let me go as a front desk employee, because it would be more cost effective to have interns do it for free. That basically thrusted me into financial turmoil.

Luckily I got up with a guy named Sax who worked for the studio upstairs and we worked on a few succesful projects which kept me sane. But, one night while I was working, I got a strange feeling in my stomach. I ignored it. I went home that next morning and found out my dad had a second stroke. While I was having fun, he was damn near dying. I went to see him in the hospital and it nearly broke me down.

If that wasn't bad enough, the next week, I was going home and got arrested in the subway for having a fucking POCKET KNIFE!!! Un-fucking-believable!!! So I have a court date in November for that.

Then, on top of that shit, my back pack gets stolen from the studio... WTF!!!! U don't even wanna know what was in it....smh.

So my life has been a constant headache since we last spoke. Sorry I haven't been keeping in touch. I'll try and blog a little more often. On the bright side, I am now listed as an assistant engineer on the website. I basically got a promotion lol so that's a good look. I'm gonna ride this wave of positivity and see where it takes me.

Peace! and much love to ya...

Being productive...awesome!!!

So i just put up another one on the myspace page. "A Hip Hop Life for Me" produced by J Flex. Loved the beat. It just made words pour out my finger tips. He sent me another joint that i'm callin "What If." Only got 2 verses done. Should be done with it by Monday or Tuesday.

I been being very productive with the music lately. I'm hoping i can keep up with this. Why is it that i can write to other ppls tracks but not my own...? I dont know. So ima start slangin my beats and using the money to break off other producers. We'll see how it goes...

In the mean time, a lil video footage from my last session:

Peace!

Crazy World - Green Lantern Avery Storm and Uncle Murda

Aight, I'm posting this in protest to the BART officer that murdered Oscar Grant in Oakland, California. I ask that the Oakland communities let due process run its course and that the judge and jury realize that this officer needs to be prosecuted and found guilty of 2nd degree murder or manslaughter in the first degree. This is getting crazy and the police must be held accountable when they break the law. I understand that some black communities do not make an officers job easy, but there is no excuse for the senseless murders dealt by the hands of police officers. You are placed in the position of authority in order to maintain peace and lawful order. This does not give u the right to take justice into your own hands. The actions of this officer were despicable and should result in him being punished to the fullest extent of the law.

Residents of Oakland, I ask that you maintain peace, in order to prevent more senseless injuries and deaths from occurring. I know that your first instinct is to retaliate, but the difference between humans and animals is that we can resist that first instinct and think before we act irresponsibly. Maintain order in your communities and peacefully voice your outrage over this incident. Do not harm that officer in any way so that due process can take place. This is an opportunity for the judicial system to prove that it works. Show the people that everyone is held accountable for unlawful behavior, no matter if your the President, Police or poor on the street. No one is above the law. To the officer that took this young man away from his daughter, you should be ashamed of your actions.

Shout out to Uncle Murda and Avery Storm for lending there voices to this cause and shout out to Green Lantern for making this collab happen. I'm grateful to be a part of what took place in the studio that night.

Peace and Love,

Why Back Packs and Kicks?

....Well simply because those are my addictions. I love back packs and kicks (also the latest gadgets).

Check it out tho my name is Phlaymz aka Good Money (me llamo Phlaymz; j'mapelle Phlaymz lol) and i rap and produce. I plan on bloggin and "vLoggin" pretty hard this year. Tryna document the mixtape creation process for everyone to see. Probably no one but my friends will ever read this but maybe I might gain a few "fans" and new friends thru the process.

To date, I got some joints recorded but I wanna go back into the studio and re-record em. By the way I work at a recording studio as a General Assistant and Front Desk employee. Its pretty dope, because u learn a lot about being an engineer and after a certain amount of time, hard work and dedication, they grant u free access to there studios and such (when they are not booked of course). So I been using that to record my material. The studio is in the process of renovating and constructing a new studio tho, so no one has been able to get much work done. So, for the next few months this blog is gonna be pretty music-less lol but the videos will be comin as soon as my 16gig sd card comes in the mail (by the 12th? *fingers crossed* Kodak Zi6 camera lol see! gadgets!)..

Anyway, Back Packs and Kicks have gotten me into some trouble over the years lol but i love em still. I'm gonna post pics of em soon as i get a chance too. Maybe tomorro.

A lil bout me tho, my name is Phil I'm from Queens NY and i dig music, back packs, kicks, gadgets, xxl mag, remix mag and anything dope. I been rappin since i was like 12 lol but i aint get nice til college (2004). I been makin beats since like 12th grade but aint get nice til i got my midi controllers (korg padKontrol and Emu Xboard 49) and some music theory classes (UB) lol. Ever since then i been gettin it in. Ppl tell me that I'm gonna make it but I'm not so sure. Hopefully they are right. I guess we gonna see right?

Anyway folks, Back Packs and Kicks: A Shoe Story...lol its a working title so we'll see. Until next time, Peace and much love to ya!
